A 15-year-old girl was killed and a man wounded Thursday night when several shots were fired through the windows of an apartment, police said.
Several men approached the living room windows of 640 E. Chester St. about 11:55 p.m. and opened fire on Fenica Saunders, 15, and Lawayne Edwards, 21.
Edwards was shot in the foot, and Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene. Saunders lived in the 400 block of E. Chester St. Edwards is stationed aboard the aircraft carrier America.
Witnesses saw several males leaving the scene on foot. Police did not know of a motive for the shooting.
