I read with interest ``A capital idea'' (editorial, July 17) which commended Marshall Coleman for announcing that he favors a capital-gains tax cut.
I must correct you when you state that ``Oliver North opposes higher taxes but hasn't said much about specific tax cuts.'' Not only does North oppose higher taxes, he stated in his first campaign brochure (which has been available for months) that he favors ``lower taxes, including cuts in income, inheritance and capital gains taxes.''
Others may try to mock him, but Oliver North is the true conservative in this race. Only he has consistently supported keeping the federal government out of our lives and out of our pockets.
