An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 15-year-old girl, and police are seeking more suspects.
Chauncey L. Howard, 18, of the 3800 block of Flowerfield Drive is charged with murder, malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling and two counts of using a firearm while committing a felony.
Police said several men approached the living room windows of a house in the 600 block of E. Chester St. about 11:55 p.m. Thursday and opened fire on Fenica Saunders, 15, and Lawayne Edwards, 21.
Edwards was shot in the foot, and Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene.
Saunders lived in the 400 block of E. Chester St. Edwards is stationed aboard the aircraft carrier America.
Police said the motive for the shootings was unclear and that they were seeking additional suspects.
