Johnnie Frank Chappell, 78, of Route 1, died Monday, Aug. 1, 1994, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A native of Chowan County, he was a retired farmer and had retired from United Piece Dye Works.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Asbell Chappell; two daughters, Kathryn C. Byrnes of Sanford and Brenda C. Small of Edenton; two sons, J. Frank Chappell Jr. of Seaford, Va., and Floyd E. Chappell of Hertford; a sister, Ronella C. Byrum of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
