John Joseph Washwell, 85, formerly of North Port, died July 31, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Born in Boston, he was the widower of Phyliss T. Washwell. Survivors include two sisters, Bertha P. Keck of Virginia Beach and Sophie S. Holt of Ely, Nev.; several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at a later date. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
