Ethel Stilwell Rockhill, 97, died July 31, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Rockhill was born in Tuskegee, Alabama. She worked as a teacher in South Norfolk for several years. She was the widow of Carl M. Rockhill and was a charter member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. She was also a member of the Deaf Missionary Church and taught bible classes for 63 years where her great success is her ministry still seen today.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie R. Wicker of Virginia Beach and son-in-law, Roy S. Wicker of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Debra W. Borjes and her husband, Russell E. Borjes Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Greco; great-grandson, William Thomas Tayor Hood III; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Effie Bullock Stilwell and Rueben A. Stilwell.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. John W. Stalling Jr. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deaf Missionary Church, 3520 John St., Norfolk, Va. 23513.
