Richard Calver, dean of administrative services at Thomas Nelson Community College, has been named interim president of the school.
He will take over from Robert G. Templin Jr., who will leave Thomas Nelson on Sept. 1 to become president of the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon.
Calver joined Thomas Nelson in 1988 after serving as dean of administrative services at Southwest Virginia Community College in Richlands for 18 years.
He was appointed interim president of Thomas Nelson by Arnold R. Oliver, the chancellor of the state community college system.
Calver will oversee the college until a permanent replacement is named. by CNB
