Those of us who agonize frequently at attempts to visualize what biblical hell might be like, Dante's Inferno's descriptive passages notwithstanding, have only to watch a few episodes of CNN's graphic reportorial of Rwanda's hapless refugees. When it seems that Africa's horrific experiences with famine, pestilence and government corruption (as recently as Somalia) have been somewhat allayed, a new high in human misery is being achieved.
