Dr. William C. French, age 73, a retired orthodontist of Virginia Beach, died Monday, August 1, 1994, in Mizpah Health Care Center, Middlesex Co., Va.
Dr. French was a native of Charleston, W.V. He attended Greenbrier Military School and Ohio University, was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry and the University of Michigan Graduate School of Orthodontics. He served in the Navy during World War II and served in the Korean War as a dental officer.
Dr. French was a member of Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Kiwanis Club of Virginia Beach. Also, he was a member of the Tidewater Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Southern Society of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws, Lynn F. and Charles B. Hancock of Virginia Beach, Diane F. and James H. Ward Jr. of Urbanna; a son and daughter-in-law, William C. Jr. and Margaret French of Virginia Beach and five grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday in Middlesex Memorial Cemetery, Urbanna.
