MILDRED A. HALSEY

Mildred Ambrose Halsey, 85, of Route 2, Creswell, died Aug. 1, 1994.

Mrs. Halsey was born in Washington County. She was the widow of Johny L. Halsey.

Survivors include eight daughters, Neta Stillman of Glen Burnie, Md., Dorothy Krank of Newport News, Ann Kent of San Jose, Calif., Gean Williams of Surry, Va., Frances Alden of Brookings, Ore., Pat Ambrose of Chesapeake, Shelia Scott of Suffolk, Cynthia Vann of Raleigh; four sons, Sherlock Albertson of Norfolk, Leon Halsey of Lanexa, Va., Zealon Halsey of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and Glenn Halsey of Plymouth; 35 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Scuppernong Church of Christ. Officiating minister will be Mark Woolard. Interment will be in Azalea Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7:30 to 9 o'clock today at Walker Funeral Home, Columbia, and at other times at the home of Glenn Halsey at White Oak Road, Plymouth.
