CARSON B. FINCH

Carson B. Finch, 72, died Monday, August 1, 1994. He was a native of Nash County, N.C. and was a peninsula resident for 52 years.

Mr. Finch retired from the Newport News Shipyard as a shipfitter and was a member of the Newport News Moose Lodge (NU)1119.

Mr. Finch is survived by his wife, Bertie M. Finch; four daughters, Ann F. Collier of Hampton, Billie Faye Pate of York County, Vickie Clemins of Poquoson, and Donna Finch of Denver, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Tammy Beaumont of Seaford and Pamela Hoggard of Tarboro, N.C.; three sons, Ronald Finch of Carter Lake, Iowa, Frank Finch of Poquoson, and Jackie B. Finch of Hampton; two stepsons, Ronnie Tyree of Burlington, N.C. and Clifford Tyree of Hampton; a sister, Mrs. Frances Respess of Portsmouth; eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Thomas G. Lee. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
