Catherine Jones Owens ``Mother Catherine Owens'', 65, of the 2600 block of King Court, died July 31, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Owens was born in Norfolk County. She was a retired domestic for Mrs. Lisa Brooks after 20 years, a member of Bibleway Holiness Apostolic Church in Chesapeake, Missionary Ministry and Mother of the church, and the widow of Bishop Elijah Owens.
Survivors include four daughters, Erinia Freeman of Chesapeake, Diane Johnson, Darlene Boyce and Doreen White of Norfolk; three sons, Anthony Owens, David Leon Owens of Chesapeake and Rev. Robert Robinson of Redwood, Calif.; her mother, Nellie Jones of Norfolk; two sisters, Florence Williams and Isabell Roscoe of Norfolk; four brothers, Clyde Jones, Arthur Lee Jones, Elijah Jones and Calvin Jones of Baltimore, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Bibleway Holiness Apostolic Church by Pastor James Faison and Rev. Tony Newsome. Burial will be in Hampton National Cemetery. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will be at 2622 King Court, Chesapeake. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
