James H. ``Poo-Cat'' Watson, 63, of the 2500 block of Peach St., a retired custodian at Hodges Manor Elementary School, died July 29, 1994, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mr. Watson was born in Scotland Neck, N.C. He retired from the Portsmouth city public school system after 10 years, was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Portsmouth, a former member of the male chorus, and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a sister, Pattie L. Golphin, and a brother, Nathaniel Watson, both of Portsmouth; three nieces, five nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church by the Rev. C.J. Freeman. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday.
