Sirlector Gainer of the 3300 block Kimball Terrace died July 31, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Gainer was born in Pitt County, N.C. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Widow's Club and was the widow of William Gainer.
Survivors include four daughters, Doris Nellum, Ruby Dunston, Bertha White and Gracie Gainer, all of Norfolk; two sons, Ervin Gainer of Newport News, Va., and Ray Gainer of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Mary Smith, Blanche Hopkins, Jean Moore and Verna Langley; three brothers, Thomas Tatum, James Tatum and Leroy Tatum; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m.
