SUFFOLK CRIME REPORT

The crimes listed below were reported to the Suffolk Police Department. Because they are initial reports, they are allegations only, and may or may not have resulted in criminal charges.

DISTRICT A

Aggravated sexual battery: 4200 block Coltrane Ave., July 22, a juvenile said she was fondled by another juvenile.

Vandalism: 2700 block Nansemond Crescent, July 22, someone pried open a door, causing $100 in damage.

Business breaking and entering: 6400 block Town Point Road, July 22, someone took $20 in coins.

Vandalism: 4400 block Coltrane Ave., July 22, a man said someone tried to gain access to his vehicle.

Felony vandalism: 1800 block Cotton Farm Lane, July 23, someone entered a construction site and damaged a bath tub and a whirlpool hot tub.

Vandalism: 8000 block Club House Drive, July 24, someone damaged five flag poles and two tee signs, and gouged the putting greens in two areas, causing $1,000 in damage.

Grand larceny: 6000 block College Drive, July 25, someone broke a car window and took a Kenwood equalizer, an AM/FM CD stereo, two amplifiers and two speakers.

Grand larceny: 6000 block College Drive, July 25, someone broke a car window and took a Rockford Fosgate AM/FM cassette stereo, amplifier, two speakers and a case with cassettes.

Residential breaking and entering: 7300 block Crittenden Road, July 26, someone pried open a window and ransacked a home.

Vandalism: 2700 block South Nansemond Drive, July 26, someone bent a car's windshield wipers and antenna and broke a rear taillight.

DISTRICT B

Felonious assault: 3800 block Nansemond Parkway, July 22, a suspect struck another man in the face and head with an unknown object during an argument.

Petty larceny: 5400 block Nansemond Parkway, July 22, someone broke a windshield and took an inspection sticker.

Vandalism: 2900 block Kings Highway, July 22, someone punctured a tire.

Grand larceny auto: 4300 block Tason Drive, July 23, a suspect took a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer.

Petty larceny: 6000 block Godwin Blvd., July 24, someone pumped $13.76 worth of gas without paying.

Throwing missiles at occupied motor vehicle: Route 58 and Pitchkettle Road, July 25, a man said three suspects in a red Ford Maverick threw a rock at his car, causing $250 in damage.

Throwing missiles at occupied motor vehicle: Route 58 and Pitchkettle Road, July 25, a man reported that his vehicle was struck by an unknown object as he drove under the Pitchkettle Road overpass.

Grand larceny: 3500 block Matoaka Road, July 26, a suspect took a socket set valued at $150 and a battery charger and hand tools valued at $225.

Rape: Joshua Lane, July 27, a woman reported that a suspect forced her into a vehicle, drove to a field and sexually assaulted her.

Attempted armed robbery: 5700 block Godwin Blvd., July 27, a man said a suspect with a gun struck and kicked him.

DISTRICT C

Felonious assault: 900 block Brook Ave., July 22, a bullet struck a man in the buttocks during a drive-by shooting.

Grand larceny: 400 block Market St., July 22, someone took an 18-speed bicycle.

Petty larceny: 900 block North Main St., July 22, someone took a purple Frigidai bicycle valued at $160.

Motor vehicle theft: 300 block Wellons St., July 23, a woman said a suspect jumped into her vehicle and drove off.

Petty larceny: 1400 block North Main St., July 23, a woman reported that someone took her Uniden car phone.

Petty larceny: 800 block West Constance Road, July 23, a suspect took a bottle of Wild Irish Rose wine valued at $3.29.

Strong-arm robbery: 800 block West Washington St., July 24, a woman said a suspect grabbed her purse and drove off with the victim hanging on.

House breaking and entering: 400 block Forest Hill Crescent, July 24, a man reported that someone entered his home and took a beige purse valued at $10, credit cards and $80 in cash.

Petty larceny: 400 block Bosley Ave., July 24, a woman reported that someone took her child's Murray Mountain bike.

Grand larceny: 400 block Brook Ave., July 25, a man said that someone took his Schwinn Beach Cruiser bicycle.

Breaking and entering residence: 100 block Pine St., July 25, a man reported that someone broke into three apartments, taking three stoves and one refrigerator.

Vandalism: 500 block Virginia Ave., July 25, a man reported that someone broke a car window.

Grand larceny: North Main Street and Finney Avenue, July 25, someone broke a car window and took a Motorola cellular phone valued at $250.

Business breaking and entering: 200 block West Washington St., July 26, someone took cleaning products valued at $113 and a calculator valued at $29.

Petty larceny: 1200 block North Main St., July 26, a suspect was observed concealing two GI Joe dolls in his pants.

Petty larceny: 100 block Military Road, July 26, a man reported that someone took his keys.

Assault on police officer: Maryland Avenue and Park Road, July 26, a suspect kicked a police officer several times in the leg.

Vandalism: 2400 block Pruden Blvd., July 27, someone broke a car's windows, damaged the steering column and radio, and took all four tires and rims.

Grand larceny: 200 block Pine St., July 27, a suspect took a .357-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun.

Hit and run: 200 block North Saratoga St., July 27, someone struck a 1993 Ford Crown Victoria.

Assault: 100 block Pine St., July 27, a woman struck the victim's face and arms with a belt.

DISTRICT D

Business breaking and entering: 100 block Commerce St., July 22, someone took a telephone valued at $90.

Throwing missiles at occupied Vehicle: 3800 block Washington St., July 22, a man reported that someone threw a rock at his car in a railroad underpass.

Vandalism: 900 block Truman Road, July 22, someone spray-painted the hood of a car.

Petty larceny: 200 block Central Ave., July 22, someone took a stereo and a CB radio from a vehicle.

Petty larceny: 300 block Mulberry St., July 22, someone took a bicycle.

Motor vehicle theft: 100 block Franklin St., July 23, someone took a 1986 Ford Taurus.

Petty larceny: 1100 block Lake Kennedy Drive, July 23, someone took an insulated pizza bag and pizza from a vehicle.

Felonious assault: Center Avenue, July 24, a man said a suspect hit him on the head with a handgun.

Felonious assault: 900 block Clarys Drive, July 24, a woman said she was struck in the head with a fork by another woman.

Felonious assault: 500 block East Washington St., July 24, a man said he was shot by an unknown person.

Residential breaking and entering: 1100 block Lake Kennedy Drive, July 24, someone took four pictures, an answering machine, a radio and a lawn mower.

Vandalism: 2600 block Riddick Drive, July 24, someone threw a rock at a car window.

Vandalism: 400 block Webb St., July 24, a man reported that someone sprayed brown paint on his front door.

Armed robbery: 100 block Pinner St., July 24, a man armed with a small handgun took $300.

Petty larceny: 600 block Carolina Road, July 24, someone pumped $7.11 worth of gas without paying.

Residential breaking and entering: 200 block Central Ave., July 24, a man reported that someone broke a door window and entered his kitchen.

Attempted murder: Cogic Square, July 24, a man reported that a suspect shot at him.

Shed breaking and entering: 600 block East Pinner St., July 25, someone broke a storage building hasp and lock, taking 18 five-gallon buckets of gray paint and 18 five-gallon buckets of white paint.

Grand larceny of a firearm: 600 block Factory St., July 25, someone took a David .380-caliber pistol from a dresser.

Vandalism: 600 block Carolina Road, July 25, someone broke a car window.

Vandalism: 200 block Carolina Ave., July 26, someone overturned a Coca-Cola machine and broke a vehicle's lights.

Grand larceny auto: 1300 block Portsmouth Blvd., July 26, someone took a 1981 Chevrolet.

Grand larceny: 400 block Elizabeth St., July 26, a woman reported that someone took a generator from her back porch.

Residential breaking and entering: 100 block Pinner St., July 26, someone took a 13-inch Quasar color TV, a gold Seiko ladies watch, Kenworth speakers and a jewelry box with jewelry, valued at $1,600.

Grand larceny: 300 block Carolina Ave., July 26, someone took a car radio.

Grand larceny: 1400 block Pinto Court, July 27, someone took an 18-inch gold chain valued at $200 and a 14-inch gold herringbone necklace valued at $264.

Vandalism: 400 block Wilson Court, July 27, someone broke a window.

Larceny by trick: 300 block York St., July 27, a woman reported that a suspect offered to cut her grass for $6. He left with the woman's gas can and never returned.

House breaking and entering: 200 block Webb St., July 27, a woman reported that someone broke into her home.

Simple assault: South Main and Cedar streets, July 27, a man reported that a group of males hit his stepson in the back of the head and cheek.

Felonious assault: 200 block Central Ave., July 27, a man reported that he was hit in the face and head.

DISTRICT E

Petty larceny: 1500 block Holland Road, July 22, someone pumped $37.09 worth of diesel fuel without paying.

Petty larceny: 1500 block Holland Road, July 23, someone pumped $13 worth of gas without paying.

Petty larceny: 1500 block Holland Road, July 24, someone pumped $10 worth of gas without paying.

Throwing missiles at occupied vehicle: Route 58 and Pitchkettle Road, July 24, someone threw baseball-size rocks off the overpass onto Route 58, striking a car's windshield and hood, and causing $700 in damage.

Throwing missiles at occupied vehicle: Route 58 and Pitchkettle Road, July 24, someone threw large rocks off the Pitchkettle Road overpass onto Route 58, hitting a car's windshield, hood and roof, and causing $900 in damage.

Counterfeit currency: Route 58, July 25, someone passed a counterfeit $100 bill.

Petty larceny: 8700 block South Quay Road, July 26, someone pumped $11.51 worth of gas without paying.

Counterfeit money: 1500 block Holland Road, July 27, a teller at the Bank of Suffolk found a counterfeit $100 bill in a deposit bag.

Grand larceny: 300 block Northbrooke Ave., July 27, someone took a set of golf clubs and bag, a rain suit, two dozen golf balls, $10 in change and two golf gloves from a vehicle.

DISTRICT F

Brandishing firearm: 100 block Rosewood Drive, July 22, a suspect pointed a Ruger P-85 9mm pistol at the complainant.

Hit and run, personal injury: Carolina and Turlington roads, July 23, the complainant struck a utility pole while trying to avoid a collision with a red vehicle.

Grand larceny: 1400 block Carolina Road, July 26, someone broke a door lock and took a ceiling fan, an antique dresser, an oval mirror, two bathroom shelves, a porch swing, ground lights, pool equipment and a vacuum hose.

Burglary: 1100 block Hosier Road, July 26, someone took an MPA-25 P.A. amplifier, a stereo mixer and a FM wireless microphone system with receiver and transmitter.

Hit and run: 3100 block White Marsh Road, July 26, a woman reported that she was forced off the road by a tan Ford Escort. by CNB
