An international collection of works of art by children is on display through Aug. 20 at the Rawls Library and Museum.
The paintings and drawings, organized by the Christian Children's Fund, have as their themes ``My Home and Village'' and ``Games and Celebrations.''
The exhibition is sponsored by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Rawls Museum Arts.
``My Home and Village'' offers a vision of daily life from a child's point of view - depictions of the big cities and small towns in which they live.
``These works speak of the universal emotions of joy, fear, hope and love,'' said Eileen Mott, coordinator of the Virginia Museum's Traveling Exhibition and Media Services. ``Language barriers, ethnic stereotypes and cultural differences disappear in the face of these brilliantly colored depictions.''
More than 10,000 entries from boys and girls between 3 and 14 were submitted, and 235 pieces were chosen for the exhibit. MEMO: For information on the display at Rawls Museum, call 653-0754. Admission
is free.
