HONORS AND AWARDS

Chesapeake Police Officer D.C. Hurst and 11 other officers were presented ``Star Performer Awards'' by Chesapeake Police Chief Ian M. Shipley Jr. for outstanding efforts in narcotic enforcement and criminal investigation.

The other officers cited were R.E. Ward, D.A. Phillips, J.E. Hilderbrandt, K.F. O'Sullivan, P.M. McAlleenan, D.N. Draper, M.S. Bedard, J.T. Fisher, K.L. Schucker and K-9 Bart-Man.

In addition, Shipley presented C.L. Jancaitis, Hurst and McAleenan with the department's Drug Enforcement Incentive Award. These officers have demonstrated exceptional performance in detecting, apprehending and convicting individuals who distribute narcotics on the city's streets. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
