The athletic complex at Greenbrier Christian Academy in Chesapeake has been officially named the Ed Bailey Athletic Complex.
Bailey, a Portsmouth native, is the athletic director at Greenbrier and was instrumental in the development of the complex. It is one of South Hampton Roads' finest.
It includes football, baseball and softball fields and a track.
Bailey was a longtime coach of Portsmouth youth teams in the Olive Branch Little League.
Greenbrier also announced that Cal Woolard has been named girls softball coach. Woolard, from Suffolk, formerly was the girls softball coach at Norfolk Collegiate.
Woolard succeeds Joy Fagan, who has accepted a coaching position at Cedarville College in Ohio.
Bailey also is holding interviews for the boys basketball coaching job. Ron McGuire, who held that position, will work only with football and baseball. by CNB
