John Herman Beaton, 89, a lifelong resident of Franklin, died Aug. 4, 1994.
Mr. Beaton was retired from the sheet finishing department of Union Camp Corporation and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Dorothy Holland Beaton.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara B. Vick of Franklin and Gloria B. Vick of Newsoms; a son, Jerry H. Beaton of Edenton, N.C.; a sister, Oreatha B. Babb of Courtland; four grandchildren, Dennis Wayne Blythe of Franklin, Sherry Pope and Denise Riddick, both of Newsoms, and Todd Beaton of Edenton; four great-grandchildren, Dennis Wayne Blythe Jr. of Virginia Beach, David Earl Pope Jr., Daniel Riddick and John Riddick, all of Newsoms; and a foster child, Donnie Metcalf of Hampton.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. David Erickson and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Vick, 24506 Mount Horeb Road, Newsoms.
