Esther P. Lassiter of the 2200 block of Longridge Road died Aug. 2, 1994, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mrs. Lassiter was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Samuel S. Lassiter Sr. She was a member of Gabriel Chapel AME Zion Church, Chesapeake, and the (NU)1 Usher Board.
Survivors include three daughters, Vera E. Cuffee of Norfolk, Belinda Lassiter of Chesapeake and Rosa B. Lassiter of Kansas City, Mo.; seven sons, Samuel S. Lassiter Jr., Ernest L. Lassiter, Kevin R. Lassiter, Virgil E. Lassiter of Chesapeake, William H. Lassiter, Ronald W. Lassiter of Virginia Beach and Sgt. First Class Michael E. Lassiter of Germany; three sisters, Mary E. Cuffee of Chesapeake, Essie M. Melton of Norfolk and Thelma V. Hincher of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Jerome Cuffee and William H. Cuffee of Chesapeake; 30 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Gabriel Chapel AME Zion Church by the Rev. Carey Johnson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
