Raleigh L. Goodman Jr., 79, of the 6400 block of Whittier Drive, a retired merchant seaman, died Aug. 4, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mr. Goodman was born in Norfolk, son of the late Raleigh and Maggie Goodman Sr. He was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk, past chairman of the Trustee Board for 12 years, former usher and member of the Deacon Board.
Survivors include his wife, Viola M. Goodman; a daughter, Theresa Carballo of Norfolk; a stepson, Richard Linyear of Chesapeake; a son-in-law, Charles Carballo of Norfolk; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; an uncle, Armstead Goodman of Norfolk; several other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 1057 Kennedy St., Norfolk, by Dr. Raymond Dean. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
