Archie Campbell Benton, 82, of the 800 block of Dekalb Ave., a retired tug boat captain, died Aug. 2, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Benton was born in Deals Island, Md. He retired from Diamond Construction Company.
Survivors include his wife, Rueanna Benton; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Rosenlieb of Salisbury, Md.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robin Black Fenton of Virginia Beach; a stepson, Roy Black Jr. of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Constance Smith of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Naomi Donalds of Salisbury, Md.; a grandson; and two stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army, Raby Road, Norfolk. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
