Mr. Robert B. Lowry, age 93, of 1706 Rivershore Rd., Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday morning in Albemarle Hospital. He was a native of Elizabeth City, a member of First Baptist Church and the N.C. Bar Association; was a graduate of Wake Forest University, Dean of the Bar Association, and practiced law for 69 years.
He was the son of the late John B. and Nora Garrett Lowry and the husband of Celeste Macon Lowry of the home.
Besides his wife, Mr. Lowry is survived by a daughter, Carole S. Alderman of Va. Beach, VA; two grandchildren, Marcia Humphrey of Va. Beach, VA and Gail Nimitz of Charleston, SC.; one nephew, Robert L. Lowry of Cary, NC; a niece, Katherine Boardman David of Silver Springs, MD; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, Aug. 7 at Old Hollywood Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Albemarle Area Hospice, POB 189, Elizabeth City, NC. The family will be at the residence.
