RAYMOND R. ALEXANDER

Raymond Reddick ``Alec'' Alexander, 71, a long-time resident of Ocean View, died Aug. 5, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Alexander was born in Norfolk. He was retired division director of 650 N.A.R.F. at the Naval Air Station, Norfolk, and a Baptist. He was a Navy veteran of World War II; past grand tall cedar Neptune Forrest 141; member of Ocean View Masonic Lodge (NU)335 AF&AM, Norfolk Scottish Rite, Khedive Temple of the Shrine, and Khedive Hillbillies; past president of Guild of Supervisors National Association Chapter 84 and past member Superintendents Association.

Survivors: beloved husband and father of: wife, Alma C. Alexander; three sons, Raymond Reddick Alexander Jr., and James A. Alexander, both of Chesapeake, and Bob Allen Alexander of Virginia Beach; a sister, Louise Hamilton of Norfolk; five granddaughters, Heather Alexander Vanderploeg of Norfolk, Kimberley Alexander-Jordan, Stephanie Clark Alexander and Katherine Leigh Alexander, all of Virginia Beach, and Meredith Ann Alexander of Chesapeake; a grandson, Jeffrey Gray Alexander of Chesapeake; and a great-granddaughter, Courtney Madison Jordan of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Masonic rites will be accorded at the grave. Memorial donations may be made to: Shrine Burn & Crippled Children Hospital or the National Kidney Foundation.
