David Henry Edwards, 94, a retired contract hauler, died Aug. 4, 1994, in his home.
Mr. Edwards was born in Woodland, N.C. He retired from Henry B. Gilpin Co., and was the widower of Agnes Smith Edwards. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk and the Senior Citizens Club at First Baptist Church of Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Edwards Archdale of Sixes, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Rose S. Rogers of Hayes, Va.; three stepsons, Bill Smith of Norfolk, Don Thomas of Portsmouth and Lea Thomas of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Ethel Edwards of Pendleton, N.C.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday at First Baptist Church of Norfolk by the Rev. Richard Baker. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements. Donations may be made to the Senior Citizens Club of First Baptist Church of Norfolk.
