Ruth Gornto, 101, of the 3100 block of Shore Drive, died August 6, 1994.
Miss Gornto, a native of Norfolk, lived in Virginia Beach most of her life. She was the daughter of Albert Sidney Gornto and Margaret Burgess Gornto. Miss Gornto was a member of Freemason Street Baptist Church in Norfolk, a 1914 graduate of Randolph Macon Woman's College, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, the Princess Anne Historical Society, the Princess Anne Circle of Kings Daughters Childrens Hospital, and the D.A.R.
Her only survivors are a few cousins.
A chapel service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, August 8, 1994, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Dr. Donald J. Dunlap. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
