Levi Blackwell, 29, of the 1900 block of Laigh Circle, a self-employed roofer, died Aug. 4, 1994, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mr. Blackwell was born in Portsmouth, a member of First Baptist Church South Portsmouth and former member of the Young Adult Choir.
Survivors include a daughter, Latoya Brown; a son, Levi Donta Blackwell; and his parents, Egloria H. Blackwell and David Blackwell Sr., all of Portsmouth; four sisters, Louise Banks of Chesapeake, Drenette Woodson of Waynesboro, Va., Althea Bond of Newark, Del., and Cynthia Thorne of Fort Washington, Md.; six brothers, Nigel Blackwell and William Blackwell, both of Portsmouth, Cletis Blackwell of Suffolk, Va., David Lee Blackwell of Europe, Reginald Blackwell of Brooklyn, N.Y., and David Lee Blackwell Jr., of Columbus, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Jennie Mae Epps of Portsmouth; and a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday at First Baptist Church South Portsmouth by the Rev. Warren A. Amlet. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
