Alberta E. Alleyne, 64, of the 300 block of Chautauqua Ave., died Aug. 4, 1994, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mrs. Alleyne was born in Louisiana Village, Leguan, Guyana. She was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Temple Church in Portsmouth, B.O.A.F.G. (NU)7 Guyana, Odd Fellows Lodge (NU)11947 and Dorcus Lodge (NU)1, Order of Eastern Star. She was the widow of Clifford A. Arthur.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Arthur-Noel and Victorine Ramos, both of Portsmouth; six sons, Stanford Arthur, Vernon Arthur and John E. Arthur, all of Portsmouth, Adolphus Alleyne of Brooklyn, N.Y., Rufus Arthur of Alexandria, Va., and Roy Arthur of Georgetown, Guyana; two sisters, Enid E. Clark and Gold Douglas, both of Guyana; two brothers, Kenneth Douglas of Newark, N.J., and Eustas McCraye of Guyana; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Herman Baptist Temple Church by Dr. I.S. Waters. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Corprew Funeral Home, where the family will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
