Vernie E. Jones, 85, died Aug. 7, 1994, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Jones was born in North Carolina. She was the widow of Jessie Jones and was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Katie F. Nitzh of Pennsylvania and Sarah Lee Perry of Norfolk; four sons, David E. Jones and Jimmie Jones, both of Virginia Beach and Jessie L. Jones and Frank Jones, both of Norfolk; two sisters, Maggie Jones of Chesapeake and Belle White of Aulander, N.C.; four brothers, Lee Lasiter and Lynnwood Lasiter, both of North Carolina and Labon Lasiter and Johnnie Lasiter, both of Chesapeake; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Jobe Cemetery, Ahoskie, N.C. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is handling arrangements.
