June Janiece Newby Sutherly, 73, a retired military pay disbursing clerk for 37 years, passed away Aug. 7, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Sutherly was born in North Salem, Ind., and had lived in the Tidewater area for over 40 years. She had retired from the Civil Service, after which she enjoyed 10 years of retirement. She was a Methodist and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Virginia Chapter 22, for over 32 years.
Survivors include a loving daughter, Pam Jennings, and son-in-law, Bill Jennings, of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Patrick Jennings and Christopher Jennings, both of Virginia Beach; and her faithful companions, Tipper and Muffin.
She was the only child of the late Inez L. and Chester E. Newby. To her family, friends and pets she was loving, loyal and steadfast.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
