``Blame high crime rate of the United States on drug war'' (Another View, Aug. 1) brought the issue of violence and illegal drug profits into better focus.
It is criminal itself that we are too morally inept to solve the crime vs. illegal drug problem/violence in America.
We would rather stage a cold war of sorts and pay for a long, futile stalemate.
Nancy Reagan created hysterical hypocrisy through her hyped-up advertising campaign. There is nothing wrong with spreading the right message, but she and her staff did very little to prevent drive-by shootings.
