Roger D. Edwards, 86, of Palm St., died Aug. 7, 1994.
Mr. Edwards was born in Hertford County, N.C., and was retired as a carpenter from St. Regis Paper Co. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Lucille Brett Edwards; two daughters, Jane E. Darden of Newsoms and Betty E. Beauvais of Franklin; three sons, Roger D. ``Dan'' Edwards Jr., S. Earl Edwards and Rudolph B. Edwards, all of Franklin; a brother, Bennie Edwards of Chesapeake; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandchild, Nancy Rose Darden.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Southampton Memorial Park by Dr. Reginald Warren. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851 or Franklin Fire & Rescue.
