Almond Lacewell, 72, of the 800 block of W. 41st St., a retired welder, died Aug. 6, 1994, in his home;
Mr. Lacewell was born in East Arcadia, N.C, the son of the late Dave and Violee Lacewell. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 35 years of service. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Lacewell; six daughters; three sons; a sister, Rebecca Ricks of Chesapeake; two brothers, Bernard Lacewell of Maryland and William Lacewell of New York; and a host of friends and relatives.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Holy Light Church of Deliverance, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Linwood E. Mills. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Riddick Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
