Winford Nathan ``Wince'' Carter, 93, of Court St., died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1994, in Evangeline of Gates Nursing Home.
Mr. Carter was a native of Gates County. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his wife, Clarine Gatling Carter; two daughters, Penelope C. Walker of Gatesville and Lucy Riddick C. Kors of Norfolk; one sister, Virginia C. Bustle of Gatesville; and two grandchildren, Robi Winslow and Elton Lee Winslow Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Dr. Donald V. Brand. Burial will follow in Gatesville Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family at the home of his daughter, Penelope C. Walker, Main St., Gatesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gates County Rescue Squad or to St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
