William Oliver Parker, 69, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 1994, in Manteo, N.C.
Mr. Parker was born in Rocky Mount, N.C., a son of the late George William Albert and Elizabeth Viola Long Parker. He was a retired boilermaker, affiliated with Local (NU)45 of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers in Richmond. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Spencer Parker.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Velda M. and John W. Elliott, Yolanda M. and Ronnie E. Lett; and a son, Ernest W. Parker, all of Chester; four grandchildren; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Chester Baptist Church, 4301 School St. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel, 3050 W. Hundred Road, of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made, in his name, to the N.C. Salt Water Citation Program, N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, P.O. Box 769, Morehead City, N.C. 28557.
