Previous position: Assistant principal at Camp Allen Elementary. He began teaching kindergarten, then became a helping teacher. He taught first and second grade and also taught in the gifted and talented program at Stuart Gifted Center. He worked as an assistant principal at Larrymore and Suburban Park elementary schools.
Goals: ``My initial goal is to get to know the students and families here in the community and work closely with the parents here to improve the education in the school. That's the key to success. We're working particularly on developing a close relationship with the Fairlawn recreation center here and coordinating programs between the school and recreation center. Working closely with the community, developing a strong parental program and increasing academic achievement are the three areas I'll be working with.''
Obstacles: ``Other than learning the names of 500 new students . . . from all I understand it's a terrific staff and a very supportive parent group.''
Proudest accomplishment as an educator: ``I think that working with students who are having difficulty and helping them to achieve their best and to catch up with their peers and to become successful students. When you take a child and move them to where they reach a maximum potential, that's where any teacher feels successful and gets a lot of satisfaction.''
Hobbies: Magic tricks, computers.
