F. Dwight Fortner Jr., a retired U.S. Navy commander, died Aug. 9, 1994, in Cleveland Foundation Clinic in Ohio.
Mr. Fortner was born in Indiana and was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Charleston, W.Va.
Survivors include his wife, Juliette Fortner; a daughter, Deborah Winters of Virginia Beach; two sons, F. Dwight Fortner III of Charleston, W.Va. and Mark K. Fortner of Cross Lane, W.Va.; grandchildren, Hugh, Shane, Angie, Anna, Cameron, Eddie and Jessica; and stepchildren, Kim Akers of Charleston, W.Va., Laurie Jones of Sarasota, Fla., and Stephen Carnes of St. Albans, W.Va.
A funeral will be held Friday, Aug. 12, in Blessed Sacrament Church, Charleston, W.Va. Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview, W.Va., is handling arrangements.
