Wilmer Allan Blankenbaker, 85, departed this life on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1994, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Wilmer Allan Blankenbaker Jr., in 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Emory and Maureen Blankenbaker of Chicago; three daughters, Jane Lee Kirk of Sterling, Va., Susan Adell Blankenbaker and her devoted companion, Kathy Woodrell, of Alexandria, Va., Beth Anne and son-in-law, Frank R. Wise of El Dorado, Kan.; three grandchildren, David Allan Kirk, Michelle Christine Kirk and Jeremy Robert Blankenbaker Wise.
A memorial service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church, 411 E. Grace St., Richmond, on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Johns Foundation (for Hospice Services), 1401 Johnston Willis Drive, Richmond, Va. 23225. Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., Richmond, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
