Michael Kevin Arranz, 34, of the 1200 block of Carolina Ave., died at his residence.
He was a native of Washington, D.C., and the son of Javier and Maggie Nicely Arranz of Moyock. He was a student at COA and had served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Deborah Medsger of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two brothers, Jeffrey Arranz of Michigan and Nino Arranz of Elizabeth City.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Northwest Naval Station Chapel, Chesapeake. The family will be at his parents' residence, Route 3, Box 324P, Beechwood Shores, Moyock. Twiford Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Currituck Cancer Society, c/o Dot Voliva, Route 2, Box 245, Moyock, N.C. 27958, and as a memorial to Michael, please plant a tree in his memory.
