Catherine Inge Wilson Artis, 71, of Route 1, Box 88, Cascade, Va., died early Tuesday morning at the Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, Va.
Born Jan. 20, 1923, in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nannie Williams Inge. She was married to Manx Artis of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Thelma Millner of Martinsville; three sons, Jimmie Douglas Wilson of Norfolk, Donnell Reuben Wilson of Danville, and Ernest Lee Wilson of Martinsville; one stepdaughter, Coley Simmons of New York City; six stepsons, David Clark of Axton, Va., Ronnie, Billy, Wayne, Jonathan and Michael Artis, all of Eden, N.C.; one brother, Willie Inge of Danville; four sisters, Ordie Hairston of Cascade, Mary Smith, Estelle Hairston, both of Danville, and Nannie Clark of Chatham, Va.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shiloh Baptist Church, Cascade, by the Rev. John Tinsley. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the residence, Cascade Road 622. Fisher & Watkins Funeral Home, Danville, is handling arrangements.
