Margaret Louise Slaton of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., a retired commercial cook and caterer, died Aug. 9, 1994, in DePaul Medical Center.
Mrs. Slaton was born in Princess Anne County, daughter of the late Marion Ollie Williams and Randolph Williams. She had retired from working at several local businesses. She was a member of St. John AME Church, No. 2 Usher Board, Stewardess Board (NU)3 and Order of the Eastern Star, Adeline Ward Chapter (NU)197 in Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, George Slaton; four daughters, Wilhelmenia Dukes of Daytona Beach, Fla., Constance Sharp of Lancaster, Pa., Juanita Kearney of Chandler, Ariz., and Veronica Gaines of Portsmouth; a son, Donald Bell of Manassas, Va.; a sister, Wilhelmenia Jackson of Norfolk; a brother, Randolph Williams of Wilmington, Del.; 10 grandsons; and a sister-in-law.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in St. John AME Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. I.W. Knight. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The remains will be placed in church for viewing at 10 a.m. Friday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
