CORRECTION

The Virginia Beach City Council passed an ordinance Tuesday to reduce the parking fee at city-run parking lots in the resort area to $1 after 5 p.m. for Virginia Beach residents. Council members Linwood Branch, John Moss and Nancy Parker initially voted against that reduction because they wanted the current daytime fee ($4 weekdays, $5 weekends) reduced as well, to $3. But they later amended their votes so that the ordinance passed unanimously. by CNB
