Here's a look at the eight administrators who were assigned to new positions for the upcoming school year:
Gerard Gavin: The former principal of Churchland Middle School is the new coordinator of transportation.
William Gibson: A former assistant principal at I.C. Norcom High School, Gibson is now an assistant principal at Churchland High.
Mike Hillinch: A former assistant principal at the New Directions Center, Hillinch is now an assistant principal at William E. Waters Middle School.
Angelina Hopkins: A former assistant principal at Churchland High, Hopkins was moved to Norcom High as an assistant principal.
Darnell Johnson: The former principal of the New Directions Center is now on special assignment to oversee the district's alternative school program and the transition to ``community'' elementary schools.
Leon Potter: Formerly the acting transportation coordinator, he is now in charge of security, crossing guards and bus routes.
William Saunders: The former principal of the S.H. Clarke Vocational Center, Saunders is now an assistant principal at Norcom High.
William H. Slate: Formerly the principal of John Tyler Elementary, Slate has been assigned to the personnel department, where he will handle elementary staffing and substitute teachers, and help monitor School Board policies. MEMO: Source: Portsmouth public school district
