Police have charged a 30-year-old man with the rape and murder of a woman whose body was found Wednesday in her apartment.
Erland Arvesta Brown of the 700 block of 17th St. was arrested Thursday. He was being held in the city jail Thursday night in lieu of bail.
Police said the body of Costina McQueen, 29, was discovered in her apartment in the 600 block of 43rd St. after relatives became concerned that they had not seen her for several days.
She had been stabbed to death.
