Estelle Mullen Whitley, 84, of the 300 block of York St., a retired nurses' aide, died Aug. 12, 1994, in Obici Hospital.
Mrs. Whitley was born in Nash County, N.C. She was a member of Portsmouth Assembly of God in Portsmouth.
Survivors include her husband, William Edward Whitley; a daughter and son-in-law, Maybelle H. and F. Bert Garris of Chesapeake; a son and daughter-in-law, Walter L. and Macie P. Horton of Portsmouth; a sister, Lola Patterson of Zebulon, N.C.; a brother, Joe Mullen of Rocky Mount, N.C.; grandchildren, Paula Y. Garris, Sherry L. Garris, Colin B. Garris, Martin L. Horton and W. Craig Horton, all of Chesapeake, and J. Scott Horton of Norfolk; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Homer Peterson. Burial will be Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday and other times at the residence.
