John Moore Sr., 74, of the 700 block of Jefferson St., a retired plumber, died Aug. 10, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Moore was born in Chesapeake and was retired from Tripplett Plumbing & Heating after 40 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn S. Couper of Chesapeake; two sons, John Moore Jr. of Norfolk and Gregory Southall of Portsmouth; three sisters, Jessie Powell of Norfolk and Lena Little and Rosa Scott, both of Portsmouth; a brother, the Rev. Samuel Moore of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in New Garden of Prayer COGIC (NU)4 by the Rev. Samuel Moore, Elder Joseph Scott, Elder Lee Chapman and Elder Leslie Walston. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 4324 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake, and will assemble at 703 Jefferson St. at 11:15 a.m. Monday for the processional to the church. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
