Catherine Smith Flythe, 80, of the 400 block of Alberon Place, died Thursday.
A native of Suffolk, Va., she was the daughter of Badger Conley Smith of Cumberland County and Clyde Shell Deloris Owen of Bladen County.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Norman Jason Flythe; daughters, Sara Joannah Flythe Fitzpatrick and her husband, Larry, of Marion, Va., and Mary Catherine Flythe of Springfield, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Laurel Myers Flythe of Raleigh; grandchildren, Tim and Cindy Fitzpatrick, Mark and Jon Fitzpatrick, Jason and Laurel Catherine Flythe; and great-grandchild, Tommy Fitzpatrick. She was preceded in death by a son, Owen Norman Flythe.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Holland's United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other times at the home of Laurel M. Flythe, 1004 Southern Oaks Drive, Raleigh.
