AVIE H. ELLIOTT

Avie Harper Elliott, of the 2000 block of Centerville Turnpike, a retired beautician, died August 11, 1994.

She was born in Hickory, Va., and was the widow of Robert F. Elliott. She was a member, senior usher, and a choir member at the United House of Prayer in Chesapeake. She was also a member of Rock of Ages, Tents Chapter (NU)2, Portsmouth, and in the Chesapeake Chapter of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by six daughters, Marie Hendrick of Trenton, N.J., Jacqueline Godfrey of Suitland, Md., Helen Bryant of Springfield, Va., Joyce Douglas of Hampton, Doris Wayman of Chesapeake, and Sharon Elliott of Portsmouth; three sons, Franklin Harper of Chesapeake, Reginald Elliott of Virginia Beach, and Roland Elliott of Trenton, N.J.; one sister, Mary White of Chesapeake; a foster son, Barry Melton of Ellicott City, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in House of Prayer, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangments.
