Annie C. Porter, 92, of the 4200 block of Greenwood Drive, died August 12, 1994.
She was a native of Southampton County and was the widow of Henry C. Porter. She was the former owner of Porter's Grocery Store on Florida Ave. in Portsmouth. She was a member of Cottage Place United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Gwynette Jarrad of Chesapeake; four sisters, Mildred Felts of Franklin, Va., Clara Bradshaw of Chesapeake, Margaret Whitley of New Orleans, and Catherine Delmonte of Chesapeake; two brothers, Willie Cogsdale and Herbert Cogsdale, both of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Jewel J. Boone of Chesapeake, William C. Brewer, and Barbara B. Owens of Portsmouth; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum by the Rev. John A. McDonald. Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
