BROKEN PROMISE TO THE MILITARY

Does anyone besides me think it's a breach of promise for military retirees to be billed for services at a military hospital if they have private health insurance? It's happened to me and, because of deductibles, I will incur out-of-pocket expenses.

Thirty-odd years ago I was promised free medical care (among other things) for a service career. Unfortunately for me and others, the policies and ground rules for honoring these promises have been changed whenever it was convenient for the government to do so. What's scary is that every time the moral and ethical pygmies responsible for these policies renege on a promise, it's that much easier to be done the next time.

Who's responsible? It's the same people who bestow upon themselves large pay raises and cushy health-care and retirement plans not available to the rest of us. I'm talking about our legislators in Congress. You know - the ones who object to term limits.
